Gonorrhea is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. It is caused by bacteria and is passed from person to person during sex. Gonorrhea most often starts as an infection of the cervix.
Genital HSV infection is a common sexually transmitted disease with substantial psychosexual impact. It is spread by direct contact: kissing, sexual intercourse, oral sex, anal sex, anal rimming (licking). Symptoms are not necessarily confined to the genitals.
Most women experience pain during intercourse. The pain may be mild, bearable or severe resulting in refusal of the normal sexual act.
