Method

  • Wash and chop the vegetables to bite sized pieces. Heat oil in a wok and stir fry garlic and ginger for 1–2 minutes.
  • Now add tofu, stir fry and add the hoisin and soy sauce along with the vegetables. Stir well and add water.
  • Boil and simmer for 15 minutes or until the gravy is slightly thick.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and cook till the vegetables are tender.
  • Serve hot.


Ingredients
  • 1 cup button mushrooms, halved
  • ¼ Chinese cabbage cut into strips
  • 1 cup tofu, cut into strips
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 4 tbsp sesame oil
  • 6 slices of young ginger
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 litre water
  • 20 snow peas, tops and tails trimmed
  • 20 long green beans, sliced
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 1 can gingko nuts, drained (optional)
  • 1 can lotus seeds, drained (optional)
