Causes

• Exposure to latex containing products

Symptoms

• Redness in the eye
• Itchiness in the eye
• Tearing
• Runny nose
• Sneezing
• Coughing
• Breathlessness or wheezing
• Rash or cracks on the skin
• Anaphylactic shock in case of severe allergy

Treatment

• Avoidance of latex in all its forms
• Avoiding inhaling latex particles through powder coating in latex gloves and other products

Incase of anaphylactic reaction:

• Oxygen
• Epinephrine
• Steroids

Prevention

• Avoid using latex products
• Avoid inhaling latex particles from powder coating in latex products
• Replace latex rubber products with latex free rubber products
