Pyloric stenosis is a condition in infants which prevents passage of food from the stomach to the intestines.
- Narrowing of the lower part of the stomach (pylorus) due to enlargement of muscles in that area.
- Vomiting especially forceful or projectile
- Very few stools
- Mucous in the stools
- No weight gain
- Weight loss
- Lack of energy
- Correction of dehydration and electrolyte disturbance with IV fluids
- Surgery to spread the thickened muscles in order to open the passage
