Causes
- Aging
- Certain heart ailments like coronary artery disease
- Certain diseases such as hypothyroidism
- Certain medications for heart and blood pressure problems
- Congenital heart defects
- Drug abuse
Symptoms
- Dizziness
- Fatigue
- Chest pain or palpitations
- Shortness of breath
- Low blood pressure
Treatment
Usually no treatment is required for asymptomatic bradycardia. In other cases it includes:
- Treatment of the underlying cause of bradycardia
- Change in medications causing bradycardia
- Implanting pacemaker
